Orbit is a free, human-curated map of the web — currently 789 websites sorted by hand into 22 categories. It carries the spirit of the classic web directories into a modern shell: sites are grouped by topic by people, not ranked by an opaque algorithm, so you can browse and discover instead of guessing search terms.
Editorial & review policy
Every submission is reviewed by a human before it goes live. We confirm a site is real, reachable, and parked in the right cluster, and we lift a short description from the site itself so each listing is honest about what it offers. We do not accept malware, deceptive pages, or thin doorway sites.
Listings carry rel="nofollow" on outbound links — Orbit is a directory, not a link-selling scheme. We tend the map by hand specifically so it stays useful rather than decaying into link spam.
Free, forever
Listing your website in Orbit is completely free. There is no paid tier, no "express review" fee, and no upsell. The map grows because real owners launch real sites into it.
Who keeps it
Orbit is maintained by a small editorial crew who review submissions and curate the clusters. Spotted a listing that is wrong, dead, or miscategorised? Tell us and we will fix it.
